Today the House Education & Workforce Committee released the findings of its investigation into the APA, the organization that accredits psychology programs and sets standards for our profession. You can read the report in full here.
The report finds that APA leaders:
• Took cues from groups that downplayed Hamas terrorism after October 7
• Answered Jewish psychologists’ concerns about antisemitism with “Sigh!”
• Replaced the APA’s antisemitism resolution with one warning of the “weaponization of antisemitism”
• Let listservs, journals and conferences become hostile to Jewish members
The Department of Education’s accreditation advisory committee has also recommended suspending the APA’s recognition for one year.
