On this day, the 7th October, we at CTA think it timely and appropriate to draw our viewers’ attention to a new journal issued by the Association of Jewish Psychologists. This journal titled Kesher and edited by Prof Daniel Burston provides a much-needed forum for practitioners operating in an increasingly antisemitic professional environment (see Satel’s recent article on the campaign to blacklist “Zionist” therapists).

And, more generally, Kesher is one example of new enterprises being set up by dissidents within the therapy field in order to counter the authoritarian political turn in the professions.  This growing network is a hopeful sign that the psych. professions can re-embrace freedom of speech and viewpoint diversity, prerequisites for ethical practice.
